Dr. Burgher is a lifelong member of the Dallas community. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, he earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Dr. Burgher served as a Navy Flight Surgeon and then completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA, where he was selected chief resident and received the CORD Resident Academic Achievement Award, an honor given annually to one emergency medicine resident nationwide.
Dr. Burgher served in the military both active and reserves, completing two combat-zone deployments during his 21 years of combined service. He practiced emergency medicine at Baylor University Medical Center’s Level 1 Trauma Center before becoming Chief of Emergency Medicine and subsequently Deputy Chief of Staff for the VA North Texas Health Care System. In his free time, Dr. Burgher enjoys time with his family and friends and is actively engaged in his church and community. He loves golf, pickleball, and long walks with his dog.
